WATCH: The Growlers’ New Video for Single “Gay Thoughts”
The Growlers’ new video for their latest single “Gay Thoughts” has quite the mix of elements. Director Jack Coleman implemented a storyline around Latin transsexuals while acquiring a psychedelic feel through the use of 15 rolls of Super 8 film. The video was shot throughout various locations in Los Angeles and Mexico.
Originally this wasn’t the title of the track, but while on tour the psychedelic-surf band inclined towards giving the song a different perspective that otherwise is hardly presented to the masses. The video was very tastefully done, the imagery allows you to visualize the mind of the characters past or more so the meaning behind the song as a whole while elaborating on a theme that has been considered a taboo in some groups of society.
