Texas Does It Big! SXSW Music and Film Festival
What is the one state that is known for big things? Texas of course! This year in Austin South By Southwest is making things bigger and better than before.
SXSW is filling Downtown Austin with 80 stages that will showcase hundreds of musical acts from many corners of the world, feature tons of films mostly within the independent spectrum, as well as give festival goers the ultimate chance to network with industry professionals in music and film at the trade show held in the Austin Convention Center.
From wall to wall the Austin Convention Center will be jam packed with labels, distributors, manufacturers. There will be panels, mentor sessions, guest speakers, demo listening sessions and so much more. Get ready for this: the Texas Guitar Show featuring thousands of new and used guitars for sale or trade, Flatstock– a concert poster exhibition with over 100 artists, a Happy Hour serving complimentary beverages, a Block Party so you can mingle with the exhibitors, a ‘Who’s Hiring Job Board’ and a SXsaloon located right in the smack center of it all.

With six nights of music (March 15th-20th), starting from 8pm to 2am you’ll experience bands and artists from 49 different countries. When you purchase a badge you’ll be able to make your way from club to club to discovering new tunes and your next favorite band.
In addition to the music festival, from March 11th-19th you can catch the SXSW Film Conference and Festival. The Film Conference brings you some of the entertainment industry’s greatest creative minds, outstanding mentors and the perfect atmosphere to network. The Festival portion goes hand in hand with independent film showcasing quaint essential documentaries, comedies, DIY narratives, genre standouts and many more.
