Sonic Youth Announce the Release of a Live Album

On November 14th, Sonic Youth will be releasing a rare recording of their performance at Chicago’s Smart Bar from August 11th, 1985.

Things to look forward to with this release is that the album will include material from 1985′s Bad Moon Rising, early versions of “Secret Girl” and “Expressway to Yr Skull,” and a never-before-released live version of “Kat ‘N’ Hat.”

The album has been mixed and mastered from the original tape source— which was recorded on 4-track cassette, and will be available in digital, CD, and double LP vinyl formats via the band’s own own label Goofin’ Records.
