“Sally is a lovely lady of 5″2″ with very small hands,” that’s how Ms. Renshaw’s bio begins on her Facebook page. Although I can sit here and describe Sally in my own words, she pretty much had me at “Hello”– I find her description so amusing and personalized that I’ve decided to share this former Manchester Metropolitan University student’s own tidbits.

“Sally’s ideas come spewing out of her head like a big bloated volcano having a sick. She can be found most days sat in her studio, ferociously illustrating, drawing and stitching with a cat in her lap and a cup of tea at her side, happy as larry.”

When I came across Sally’s Craft & Criminality project–done for her degree show– I was intrigued by the purpose behind it: “I wanted to challenge the aggressive and violent nature of criminals that intimidates us by using inspiration from the arts and craft movement. I created a series of serial killer portraits and one large illustration depicting the story of the famous Dr. Crippen.”
