‘One Month One Roll’ Will Make you see Life From a New Angle
One Month One Roll is a website that tackles people’s creative photographic forces. It’s also inspires the ability to capture one of a kind moments you won’t see again, to write a journal entry in the form of film, to go find adventure and even see things from a new angle.

The idea for One Month One Roll came from Aussies Mat and James, who have come together and built a community of film loving enthusiasts that are able to share their lives and love of photography through this website.
The purpose of One Month One Roll is just that, you have one month to shoot one roll of film, and then share what your lens encountered on the web.
Whether it be a Holga, Robot Cam or a Kodak Brownie, that’s your choice, there is no digital interaction here– just the uploading part, but this website is all about embracing the tradition of analog.
According to James, he thinks analog is vital in this day in age because “…its expensive and you don’t get instant feedback, makes you think more about what you’re shooting and this makes you a better photographer. Also, it’s important to keep all the analog stuff alive– vinyl sounds better, film looks better.”

Traveling the streets of Argentina for a year, all James did was shoot in film. Once he got back to Australia last year he decided that it didn’t end there, he wanted “an excuse to keep shooting.” James then hit up his friend Mat, who had been working on his own photography venture in Japan, and started to develop the website.
One Month One Roll already has quite the variety of folks, with most of its photographers being in the age range of 30 and under, both amateurs and professionals alike; countries like the Philippines and Australia already have built quite the following.
“Ultimately, it’s gonna be super cool when people around the world are submitting and we all get to experience how people are seeing their surroundings,” shared James.
One of the countries he’s eager to see photographs from is Africa.

Travel, friend’s portraits, to just walking around cities hail as the most popular themes, but Mat and James welcome just about anything, as long as your creativity is put to use.
At the present moment James fancies “Lauren from Canberra‘s stuff, she used a panoramic camera and flipped it vertically. Good results.”
“When you grab your keys on the way out the door, grab your camera and shoot the shit…we want people who ordinarily wouldn’t walk around with a camera to grab one on their way out the door. When you’re rolling around with a camera, you start seeing the world differently, composing as you’re scouting about. It’s a nicer way to think and see.”
Not only does One Month One Roll challenge the way you see your own life, it also opens your eyes to see the life of others.
