Nobody knows summer heat, the way they do in the desert. The Phoenix-based band What Laura Says know exactly how to keep it cool, and that is with their effortlessly blended genre mixture. Their newest EP Talk– which came out back in May via Sundawg Records– carries the perfect summer tracks for those late night chill sessions. Their mixture of psychedelic, americana and blues, along with layered smooth vocal harmonies, piece together very unique songs that have had artists like Devendra Banhart fall head over heels with their tunes.

What Laura Says started out as an acoustic duo back in 2003 with James Mulhern (keys, guitar and vocals) and Danny Godbold (guitar, percussion, vocals), later on becoming a five-piece band with Greg Muller (drums), Mitch Freedom (bass, vocals), and Jacob Woolsey (percussion). What Laura Says have not only toured with Annuals, plus Deer and The Headlights, they’ve also shared stages with My Morning Jacket, Delta Spirit, Yo La Tengo and many other well-known bands.
