CBGB Shipped Off For Filming, Movie Cast Revealed
315 Bowery will shine once again, this time on the big screen. The old CBGB was packed up and shipped to Savannah, Georgia, to be used in the movie– which started filming on June 25th. We’re not kidding! Sections of the bar, urinals, phone booth, pieces of wall, founder Hilly Kristal’s desk [with a list of phone numbers from old staffers still intact] were all shipped off to make their debut.
Also, and updated cast list has been revealed which includes: Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys, Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkings as Iggy Pop.
